Health Policy Planning and Management

About The Department of Health Policy Planning and Management (HPPM)

Health Policy Planning and Management (HPPM) is one of the four departments in the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health (FNBSPH). The courses in the department introduce students to the fundamentals of health leadership, management, planning and policy. The department’s niche is to contribute to equipping students with knowledge and skills that pertain to public health policy, the processes and actors involved in its formulation and implementation of health policies. It is essential that public health practitioners have good leadership and managerial skills to improve health care delivery, which is another strong focus area of the department.

Our courses and modules are taught by highly qualified, experienced and committed faculty. The department upholds integrity, innovation and hard work as key virtues for success.

The department has two postgraduate programmes. These are Master of Public Health (Monitoring and Evaluation) and Master of Public Health (General). The department will soon roll out a Master of Science (MSc.) programme in Public Health Monitoring and Evaluation. This is in response to the demand expressed by current and former students, as well as the Ghana Health Service.
