WELCOME MESSAGE
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health, University of Health and Allied Sciences (FNBSPH-UHAS), Volta Region, Ghana.
Our department plays a pivotal role in the mission of the University to provide quality education, advance knowledge through scholarship and research that improves health and quality of life. We are committed to training the next generation of public health professionals equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to respond to the most pressing health challenges of our time, from infectious disease threats and non-communicable diseases to health data analytics and environmental health threats.
The department comprises three units: Disease Control, Health Information and Environmental Health. Together, they reflect our commitment to a multidisciplinary approach in understanding and solving public health problems. Our faculty are actively involved in both teaching and cutting-edge research across different thematic areas that address local, regional, national and global health priorities. Our graduates are equipped to lead, innovate and transform public health systems not just in Ghana but globally.
We take pride in our strong partnerships with the Ghana Health Service and place high value on collaborations with other government agencies, international partners and the communities we serve. This is to ensure that our research and trainings are relevant, impactful and responsive to current health challenges.
