The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics is a key department in the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health, University of Health and Allied Sciences. The department has three units: Disease Control, Health Information and Environmental Health and our core duties are centred on teaching, research and community service in line with the University’s mandate. The department integrates epidemiology, biostatistics and environmental health to address local and global public health challenges.
The department’s primary purpose is to train the next generation of public health professionals well-equipped with analytical and practical skills needed to investigate, understand and address public health issues affecting populations. We also conduct cutting-edge research using a multidisciplinary approach. We seek to engage in community service in the university, within our local communities, with our collaborators and international partners
