DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH POLICY, PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT
Welcome to the Department of Health Policy, Planning and Management (HPPM). It is one among four Departments in the School of Public Health. Here, our main objective is to introduce students to the fundamentals of health leadership, management, planning and policy. We equip students with knowledge and skills that pertain to public health policy, the processes and actors involved in its formulation and implementation. As is obvious, the success of healthcare service and its delivery on national and global fronts requires that those involved are well-versed in matters relating to health policy and systems. It also essential that public health practitioners have good leadership and managerial skills to improve health care delivery. This department is therefore in place to bring students into such a state that they can substantively contribute to the health care as public health practitioners both in Ghana and beyond. This is done through carefully selected courses and modules that are taught by our highly qualified, experienced and committed staff. This department upholds integrity, innovation and hard work as key virtues for success and is impartial to all students.
