Dr. Emmanuel Manu is a Senior Lecturer of Public Health Promotion and currently, the Head of the Department of Population and Behavioural Sciences at the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health, University of Health and Allied Sciences.
Education
He holds a Ph.D in Health Sciences Health Promotion - 2017 from Walter Sisulu University, South Africa. He also holds Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the same institution.
Work Experience
Prior to his appointment at the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Dr. Manu taught in South Africa for over ten years. He joined the University in October 2017 and has since been extensively involved in teaching, research and community service. He is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Catholic University College of Ghana, Fiapre, since 2021. He provides consultancy services and conducts in-service training programmes for the Health Promotion Unit of the Ghana Health Service. He has supervised and assessed many students in Public Health at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is also a curriculum reviewer for the Allied Health Professions Council of Ghana for institutional accreditation purposes.
Science/Research output and Research Interest
His research interest is in the areas of substance use, maternal and child health, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, health systems research and infectious tropical disease prevention. He serves as a peer reviewer for a number of scientific journals.
